Ramon Esteve Estudio - Traza for Pimar

Traza is a bathroom collection designed for PIMAR Italian Limestone, born from the transformation of solid limestone blocks into pieces of serene presence and sculptural character. Its origin lies in the material itself: in the cutting, hollowing, carving and hammering that reveal the stone in its most essential condition. Each piece retains the memory of the block from which it comes, turning that gesture of subtraction into language.

The collection explores the balance between two states of the material. On the one hand, smooth, precise and refined surfaces, defined by clear geometry and rigorous construction. On the other, rocky, irregular and tactile textures, which refer to the stone in its original, almost geological state. Between the two, a restrained tension emerges, a conversation between what has been carved and what remains intact, between the architectural and the natural.

Traza draws inspiration from the imagery of the quarry, the excavated cave and the exposed mineral stratum. It does not reproduce nature literally, but abstracts it. Here, stone is understood as mass, as a trace of time and as a surface capable of filtering light. Clean edges and defined planes introduce order; hammered areas restore the object to its original condition. The result is a collection that conveys solidity without heaviness, and monumentality without excess.

Each piece has been conceived as a monolithic volume lightened by the work of carving. The hollowed interior, controlled thicknesses and the relationship between solid and void generate serene, almost silent proportions. The texture is not an applied finish, but a consequence of the process. In this sense, Traza advocates a way of making in which technique and craftsmanship are not concealed, but form part of the object's final expression.

Within the bathroom space, the collection introduces an atmosphere of calm and contemplation. Limestone brings visual warmth, density and permanence. The smooth surfaces receive water with precision; the carved areas capture light and cast shifting shadows throughout the day. Each piece establishes a direct relationship with the body, with use and with time, transforming an everyday gesture into an experience that is slower, more conscious and closer to the material.

Traza thus proposes a timeless aesthetic, grounded in the authenticity of the material and the clarity of form. It does not seek ornament, but essence. It does not pursue immediate novelty, but enduring beauty, built through proportion, texture and presence. The collection transforms the bathroom into a place where stone ceases to be merely a cladding material and becomes domestic architecture, a sculptural object and an interior landscape.
