Ramón Esteve Estudio Opens Its Doors Again for Open House Valencia 2026

Ramón Esteve Estudio will once again take part in Open House Valencia, the international architecture festival returning for its eighth edition from 23 to 25 October 2026. This year, visitors will have the opportunity to discover two projects by the studio: Studio Apartment Carmen, its workspace in Valencia's historic centre, and Universidad Europea Campus Turia, which will also serve as the official venue for Open House Valencia 2026.

Although different in scale and purpose, both projects reflect a shared approach to architecture: one based on dialogue between contemporary design, its surroundings and the existing built fabric.

Studio Apartment Carmen: Architecture and the Creative Process

Located in the historic centre of Valencia, Studio Apartment Carmen will open to visitors on Saturday 24 October, from 10am to 11am, offering a glimpse into both the studio's architecture and its day-to-day creative environment.

The building sits within the dense urban fabric of the Carmen neighbourhood, where a contemporary intervention has been carefully introduced into a protected heritage setting. The project retains elements of the original building, including the stone blocks that define the corner, while reinterpreting characteristic features of the area's traditional architecture through a contemporary architectural language.

Inside, the structure is concentrated around the perimeter, allowing for open, flexible floor plans in which natural light plays a central role. The ground and first floors accommodate the studio's workspaces, giving visitors the opportunity to experience not only the building itself, but also the setting in which the team develops its architecture, interior design and product design projects.

Universidad Europea Turia Campus: Heritage Adapted to New Uses

Universidad Europea Turia Campus will also be part of this year's programme and will serve as the official venue for Open House Valencia 2026. The campus will be open to visitors on Saturday 24 October, from 11am to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm.

Located on Calle Guillem de Castro, next to the former Turia riverbed, the project transforms the former Asilo de San Juan Bautista into a contemporary university campus.

The intervention is grounded in respect for the building's existing architecture, restoring and highlighting significant heritage features including the cloisters, chapel, historic flooring and Nolla mosaics. Alongside these preserved elements, the project introduces new educational facilities and flexible spaces designed to encourage interaction, creating a dialogue between the building's history and the needs of a contemporary academic institution.

The refurbishment is complemented by a new volume whose materiality, colour palette and compositional rhythms draw on those of the historic complex. The addition is designed to sit naturally alongside the existing architecture while retaining a distinctly contemporary identity.

The participation of Studio Aparrment Carmen and Universidad Europea Turia Campus in Open House Valencia 2026 offers visitors the opportunity to experience two very different expressions of Ramón Esteve Estudio‘s approach to architecture: one closely tied to the studio's own creative process, and the other centred on giving new life to a heritage building through contemporary use.
